The
Volkswagen Crafter comes with a choice of three wheelbases, three roof heights, four load lengths and with class leading side sliding door aperture for easy loading and unloading. Whatever your basic load-carrying requirement is, be it length, weight or size, there is a model in the Crafter range which will do the job.
The high-performance diesel technology TDI is one of Volkswagen’s core competencies. BlueTDI is a new concept that makes this technology even cleaner: exhaust treatment reduces nitrogen oxides produced by up to 90 percent, making the BlueTDI the most environmentally-friendly diesel in its class. The BlueTDI already meets the Euro 6 emissions standard, which does not become obligatory until 2014.
Available on certain models is the 'Shiftmatic' lightweight gearbox which can be operated in either manual or automatic mode. In automatic mode all the gears are selected automatically by the control unit. In manual mode the driver pushes the gear lever forwards to change down or backwards to change up, giving all the benefits of a manual gearbox without the need for a manual clutch.
There are no set service intervals on the Crafter, thus so called 'The LongLife Service'. The interval between services depending on how you drive your vehicle and the conditions of use, can be anywhere up to a maximum of approximately 25,000 miles or 24 months (whichever comes first). The Service Interval Display in the instrument panel will indicate when a service is required.
