Ford Transit Chassis Cabs are literally a base on which to build your business. Available in short, medium or long wheelbase and extended frame derivatives, with correct mounting, virtually any kind of body can be fitted onto the strong ladder-frame chassis from platforms, tippers, boxes and dropsides to more specialised bodies like curtainsiders. Each chassis cab has a flat, strong base on which to build, with common fixing points and low frame rails which provide maximum ease of body mounting. Bodybuilding flexibility is even greater on the front-wheel drive chassis cab, due to its even lower chassis rails.
Joining the Transit range is the All-New powerful 3.2 litre 5 cylinder TDCi engine developing 200PS and 470Nm of torque at the rear wheels. The front wheel drive 2.2L 130PS 5-speed model has also been enhanced with the introduction of a new 2.2L 140PS 6-speed powertrain. For operators downsizing from 7.5t who demand greater loading latitude from their vehicle while remaining within the N1 class legislation, the new 350 HD (Heavy Duty) series of vehicles are ideal. For some operators who wish to climb the payload ladder there's also the introduction of the 4.6T (N2 class) range.
cDPF (catalysed diesel particulate filters) are also now available as an option on the FWD 2.2L 85PS and the RWD 2.4L 100PS. The RWD 2.4L 100PS model also gains 6-speed transmission when cDPF's are specified.
